Talk Nerdy Dirty to Me Sugar Cookies

So early last week, after I cleaned up lunch I was catching up on some social media stuff and I hear the instructor say “virtual dom” and not just once like 4 or 5 times. Maybe I have a dirty mind or was thinking about 50 Shades of Grey too much. The next day I hear “frontend,” “backend” and “full stack.” The idea for my dirty nerdy sugar cookies was born. I have a great sugar cookie recipe and glaze that I love. A house full of coders and some coding terms that sound dirty (but aren’t) we’re going to be a hit! So I know I needed more terms but wanted the cookies to be a surprise to the guys so I couldn’t ask them. So I asked reddit. Thanks everyone on reddit. Check out the thread here: http://www.reddit.com/r/learnprogramming/comments/2vmnt2/help_me_talk_dirty_nerdy/

Also, linux you are a dirty dirty language!

So if you aren’t into too talking to dirty nerdy these cookies are still amazing. They are chewy and soft. The glaze is perfectly sweet and has a great flavor to it.

Sugar Recipe and Glaze:
Dough:
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla pudding mix
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Glaze:
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 teaspoons milk
2 teaspoons light corn syru p
1 teaspoon almond extract
assorted food coloring

Preheat oven to 375 F. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, pudding mix and baking powder. Set aside. In a mixer, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Blend in the dry ingredients.

Roll out dough. Cut into desired shapes.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet 10 minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

While cookies are cooling make the glaze. In a small bowl, mix together confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.

Divide into separate bowls, and add food colorings to each to desired intensity. Using a spatula or knife glaze the tops of the cookies. Decorate with some dirty nerdy terms of your own. Or try mine. :)

Thank you again reddit users!
