The great thing is you even get a bonus of caramelized onion butter when they are done! Trust me it smells and tastes amazing. So here is my version.

Ingredients:
6 large oso sweet onions, sliced
2 sticks of butter
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

1. Slice the onions. Yes, it is a lot and yes I cried. But trust me it is worth it! My onions were huge too!

2. Place a stick of butter on the bottom of the crockpot. Then add the onions. Then add another stick of butter on to the top of the onion. The drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the top.

3. Let them cook on low for 8-10 hours. Then ta-da you have delicious caramelized onions.

4.  Separate the onions from the juice. So you have the onions and the butter.
