KnockoutJS Bacon Green Bean Casserole

KnockoutJS is a standalone JavaScript implementation of the Model-View-ViewModel pattern with templates. The underlying principles are therefore and a clear separation between domain data, view components and data to be displayed the presence of a clearly defined layer of specialized code to manage the relationships between the view components. The latter leverages the native event management features of the JavaScript language. These features streamline and simplify the specification of complex relationships between view components, which in turn make the display more responsive and the user experience richer. So this is a knockout version of traditional green bean casserole. Bacon helps knock it out of the park!

Ingredients:
12 cups canned green beans
10 slices of bacon, roughly chopped
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup half and half
1 teaspoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
2 tablespoons black pepper
1 tablespoon nutmeg
3 cups French’s Fried Onions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Drain and rinse the green beans. Place in a greased baking dish.

2. Add chopped bacon to green beans.

3. In a small sauce pot, mix mushrooms soups, half and half, soy sauce, garlic, black pepper and nutmeg together. Heat just until it starts to bubble. Remove from heat.

4. Mix the mushroom soup mixture with green beans and bacon. Mix in 1/2 a cup of fried onions. Let bake for 20 minutes.

5. Remove from oven. Top with remaining fried onions. Bake for 5-10 minutes, just until the top starts to turn a golden brown. Serve immediately!

Notes
  1. You can easily half this recipe. And you can always add more bacon!

I love green bean casserole, but have never had it with bacon! Will definitely have to try this one. Bacon makes everything better! Thanks for sharing!
